Color Mixing

[dt_sc_full_width first]

Description

Explore colors and color mixing with this engaging activity! Start by putting red, blue, and yellow food coloring in three separate containers of water. Then using eye droppers, invite children to transfer two of the primary watercolors into three more containers of water to create the secondary colors of orange, purple, and green.

Record these findings onto the printable using crayons or paint directly on top of the printable with tempera paint. Older children will love our Color Inventions activity. Encourage them to add a touch of white or black to their colors and create their very own color palette. The most fun will be naming their new colors!
